NEW WORK

These pieces all begin with photos I have taken of subjects that include landscape, seascapes and water scenes, still life, birds and animals, flowers, and urban scenes. I rework and refine these images, sometimes taking pieces from one photo and combining it with another, and then cleaning up the image by simplifying areas, changing the contrast and color balance, or eliminating distracting elements. Once I'm happy with the photo, I use PhotoShop and/or Painter to digitally "paint" the photo to give it a more artistic look and feel. The resulting pieces can be printed on paper or canvas, in a wide variety of sizes (and prices). Canvas giclée prints are often hand-textured with acrylic gel medium to give them more textural dimension (see example below).

Seascapes and Water

We spend part of the year in the Pacific Northwest, and many of my seascape pieces are from travels along Puget Sound and the Washington and Oregon coasts. Some are from travels to Mexico.
